“JUST HEALING” EPISODE 02 NOW AVAILABLE!

The second episode of our new podcast, JUST HEALING, is now available on all major podcast platforms!

In this episode, Richard and social entrepreneur, Hernán Carvente-Martinez, discuss identities and their impact on how we heal from trauma. Hernán is a Chicano community organizer and leader in the fight to end youth incarceration. He is the Founder & CEO of Healing Ninjas, Inc. - a social enterprise seeking to end mental health stigma while expanding access to health and wellness resources for communities of color. Most recently, Hernán worked as the National Youth Partnership Strategist at the Youth First Initiative, a national campaign focused on closing youth prisons and reinvesting that money into community alternatives.

New episodes will be released the last Friday of each month for the remainder of 2022.

MALE SURVIVOR AWARENESS DAY – A SUCCESSFUL COLLABORATION

A heartfelt “thank you” to Speak Your Truth Today (SYTT) for their leadership in organizing the first-ever Male Survivor Awareness Day (10/25) during 2022 Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The overall purpose of this collaboration was to expand public awareness that domestic violence impacts individuals throughout the full spectrum of gender identities, including men and transgender people. Representatives of the collaborating organizations - SYTT, MenHealing, MaleSurvivor, and  FORGE – were featured in a resource panel podcast that is available by clicking the image above.

HONORING THE VOICES OF SURVIVORS

Let us know if you have a testimonial to share – we welcome your submissions.  We want to honor the diversity of voices of survivors – and allies.

REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 2023 ALUMNI & STAFF SERVICE PROJECT

Registration is open to WOR Alumni who want to join with MenHealing staff for this special Best Friends Service Project.  Space is limited to a maximum of 12, so we invite you to consider signing up now for a “Save My Space” reservation option.

Best Friends, the largest animal sanctuary in the United States, is a healing home for up to 1,600 abused, neglected, or homeless animals. MenHealing is honored to announce our third annual collaboration for three days of service work at the Best Friends Sanctuary in April 2023. The opportunity is profound to extend our mission for ending sexual violence by helping to heal animals who have been hurt.

MENHEALING IS COMMITTED TO FINANCIAL ACCESSIBILITY FOR WEEKENDS OF RECOVERY. WE BELIEVE THAT HEALING SHOULD NOT BE IMPEDED BY ECONOMIC LIMITATIONS. THEREFORE, WE ARE OFFERING A “PAY WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD” PRICING STRUCTURE FOR WEEKEND OF RECOVERY EVENTS.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Consider whether you can support MenHealing by making a contribution of any amount before the end of 2022. • A $50 Donation will pay for ten personal journals given to survivors at a WOR
  • A $200 Donation will pay for one month subscription for ZOOM platform used by MenHealing
  • A $295 Donation will pay 25% of the cost for one survivor to attend a WOR
