PRESENTER ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
In this public storytelling and community dialogue series, male survivors of sexual victimization, from across the United States, will have the opportunity to publicly share stories about their own journeys of healing from sexual victimization, with a live online audience. The stories will be followed by an audience-presenter dialogue.
This project is led by MenHealing and the Men's Story Project.
We are seeking authentic stories from male survivors who are ready to inspire other survivors, through the power of sharing their own healing journeys.
We invite submissions from men and folks who identify with masculinity in any way, who are ages 18+, survivors of sexual victimization in childhood or as adults, of diverse race/ethnicities, sexual orientations, religions, etc.
Creativity and the use of diverse mediums are welcome (e.g., poetry, prose, monologues, music), and the stories can have accompanying visuals (e.g., photos, paintings, video art, live or filmed dance pieces with original or licensed music). Please see sample topics below.
Contributions of all kinds will be welcome: serious, meaningful use of humor, etc. - the main theme is authenticity. Our aim is to create powerful public moments of truth-sharing and dialogue that challenge the invisibility and isolation of male survivors, and build community. See some sample videos below.
Four live, online presentations will take place in March & April 2021. Each presenter will share their story at two of these online events. For those presenters who grant permission, their stories will also be recorded and shared online.

These workshops will be guided by MenHealing and MSP facilitators (though the sessions will not be therapy).
The workshop topics will include men’s survivorship; healthy masculinities; navigating relationships & sexuality; somatic & mindfulness tools for healing; story-crafting for healing, etc.
In addition to the group workshops, one-to-one coaching will also be provided to support you in developing your piece.

You're welcome to watch as many videos as you'd like here, to get a sense of what we're aiming to create in the Men’s Story Project. These videos show how some of our prior storytellers have shared their stories in authentic and creative ways. The MSP will focus on only men’s stories about healing from sexual victimization.
